Rotherham Town Centre Retail Group

Last night we had a meeting with the council to talk about improving the town centre of the 20 retailers who attended the main topic was car parking.

We recently had a commercial retail and office block demolished in Rotherham this is not being rebuilt due to the recession we asked the council to make it into a temporary car park but the reason for not doing this is would you believe because of the impact of the engine fumes on the people in town.

our letting agent Carter Towlers of Leeds think that our trust and word is not good enough to wait for a late payment of the rent as arranged, so they send in the bailiffs and charge £300 .00 for the experience don't they know that in this downturn that this takes a lot of earning and stops a payment to other suppliers.making it harder for the next rent payment.

This is a photo of Wellgate Rotherham at 1pm on a Saturday, this used to be the busiest parade of shops until the self centered councilors sold of the car parks and shops to private developers and closed the town centre down.

Framed Print of Roach Abbey

This is one of a limited edition of 100 prints by Ray Matthews of Maltby the original canvas will be presented to a running club from St Quentin in northern France which is twined with Rotherham.

The runners will compete in the Abbey Dash a race which circuits historic Roach Abbey on Sunday the 5Th July 09 ,the original Oil Painted Canvas framed by Andrew the Picture Framer in our in store workshop will be presented to the visiting runners after the race.

Roger Stone Rotherham Leader OBE

The Leader of Rotherham Council is to be honoured with a OBE for his work in making Rotherham shopping footfall go down by more than half. By selling off 2 blocks of council shops and the car park that serviced these buildings to build a block of flats with 2 large retail units on the ground floor.

As I do not think he should be awarded the OBE for the above should there be a way of opposing nominations before they are announced
